Performance Fuels

We have a passion and understanding of petrol that stems from many years of experience in blending different grades of petrol in very significant volumes. (Currently we manufacture about 50 million litres of petrol every week.)

We were therefore particularly proud to be given the opportunity to create Tesco 99 Octane petrol for sale at Tesco stores, at the time of its launch the highest octane fuel available at UK forecourts. Made exclusively by Greenergy, Tesco 99 Octane is currently available at 250 Tesco stores and is gradually rolling out to even more stores across the country.

Building on this experience, we went on to develop a range of speciality motorsport fuels under the Tesco 99 Octane brand. As motorsport competitors, we already had significant experience of using other race fuels and had studied their effect on different racing engines. We were also able to benefit from the production economics provided by our mainstream fuels business. From this basis came our motorsport mission: to develop the highest performance, safest and lowest cost motorsport fuels within the prevailing legal and sporting limits.

Our first motorsport fuel, produced for the 2006 season, became the control fuel of the British Rally Championship. For 2007 we have three grades of motorsport fuel, developed to meet different sporting rules and budgets.
