Waste to renewables

For over thirty years we have been working to decarbonise transport with low carbon fuels.

Already an industry leader in the development of waste-based fuel solutions, our Next Gen projects look to solve waste challenges, and create advanced renewable fuels, bio naphtha and petchem products to drive the energy transition, support a circular economy and bring sustainable fuels closer to our customers.

Investing in the fuels of the future

'With decades of experience in bringing scalable solutions to the industry, we are uniquely positioned to apply our expertise to the wider waste to renewables sector with the aim to expand our production and supply of waste-based renewables to drive the energy transition.'

Mark Whittle
Head of Next Gen Renewables

Supporting a circular economy

We develop projects that recycle, reuse and repurpose wastes to create new forms of next generation renewable fuels and products. Creating renewables from wastes will help decarbonise tranport through a sustainable and circular model that creates value from waste.

Our Next Gen projects focus on utilising different waste feedstocks such as used cooking oil, tyres, household waste and plastics and can deliver a positive environmental impact by reducing waste entering landfill and turning waste into renewables. Repurposing waste products builds a circular economy that will result in a diversified, low or no carbon, waste-to-value model.

Our GTT project, currently under development, will use end-of-life tyres to create a new waste to value proposition, creating low carbon biofuels for transport and recovered carbon black, that can be reused in new tyre production. The GTT project is part of a new Greenergy facility on Teesside, where we will develop a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant.
