Three decades of growth

Over time we have expanded from niche environmental products and today supply traditional fuels such as gasoline and diesel along with renewable fuels. This has seen the business expand through investment, infrastructure development and acquisitions to become an international supplier and distributor of both traditional and renewable transport fuels.

Today, Greenergy operates across the UK, Ireland, Canada and France, combining fuel sourcing, import terminals, storage, logistics and distribution to supply retail, commercial and wholesale customers. The business supplies renewable transport fuels, including biodiesel and bioethanol, alongside conventional fuels.

Our beginnings

Early years

Greenergy was established at a time when fuel quality standards were changing across Europe. The business initially focused on supplying lower-sulphur diesel and subsequently expanded its product offering as environmental regulations and customer requirements evolved.

During the 2000s, Greenergy became an early supplier of biofuel blends to the UK market, reflecting the increasing role of renewable fuels within transport fuel supply.

Outlook

Growth through investment

Over the following decades, Greenergy expanded its operations through investment in supply infrastructure and a series of acquisitions. This included the development of import and storage capability, investment in logistics and distribution, and the addition of fuel businesses in key international markets.

These investments have created an integrated supply network that supports the sourcing, storage and delivery of transport fuels across multiple regions.

An international business

Greenergy's growth has extended its presence beyond the UK into Ireland, Canada and France. The acquisition of Armorine in 2025 further strengthened the Group's position in France, adding regional fuel distribution, heating oil and lubricants to the wider business.

In 2024, Greenergy was acquired by Trafigura, strengthening its access to global fuel supply and trading capability while continuing to operate its established businesses in local markets.

Where we operate

Supporting transport decarbonisation

Greenergy continues to develop its business in response to changes in customer demand, regulation and the transport fuels market. Alongside conventional transport fuels, the Group supplies renewable fuels and continues to invest in the infrastructure and capabilities needed to support reliable fuel supply across the markets in which it operates.
